What would life be without them? They are everything to me...
Without them life would be meaningless...empty!!!

HERBS: I’M A USER AND A BELIEVER!

Local Name:Hempedu Bumi
Scientific Name: Andrographis Paniculata

These herbs have been used as medicinal plant to treat diabetes and high blood pressure. I used it for cough because it helped to expel the phlegm and relieve chest congestion.

Place some portion of the leaves in the palm of your hand and knead it into a ball…swallow it with coffee or tea so you can’t really feel the bitterness. If you can stand the bitter taste, just soak a few dried or fresh leaves in a cup of boiling water for a few minutes to drink it.

You can drink it while it still warm or cold but the taste...Surely is BITTER!

You can dry the leaves and keep it in an airtight container for further use. If you prefer not to boil it you can just soak it in hot water.

REFLECTION OF MY LIFE...

During my teens, just like anyone else...I have quite a number of admirers and it was hard to make a choice. Being a woman was not easy…you’ll be labeled by all sort of bad names if you rejected any man’s love. Most Asian man at that time (the 70’) was not broad minded and very egoistic...They just hate to be rejected! Any close encounters means only love & romance or marriage. There is no such thing as platonic relationship or brotherly love for most of them sedih
I guess maybe partly the fault lies in me because I might seem to lead them on by being nice to them…I should have just ignored them in the first place.
Well, that’s life during once upon a time ago; looking back at those lovely years could just make me smile...rindu

I'm in my twilight years now and...still married to one of the man that pursued me kenyit I was married on the 30th May 1972. After being ‘through thick & thin’ I’m happy to say that we’ll be celebrating our 36th wedding anniversary soon...InsyaAllah!
We're blessed with two children.
The eldest is a girl and she'll turn 34 this June.
We had a granddaughter from her marriage and come November we'll be celebrating our son 20th birthday!
We hope that our children will never forget their roots and keep their traditional value...May Islam always be their way of life!
Growing old is not easy and death is only a few step away but that doesn’t mean we have to stay at home and became stagnant. I hope I’ll not burden my children. I have more time for myself now, I must keep on learning new things to enrich my soul...
Traveling and music has always been my passion beside some other thing...I guess that's partly what bonded me with my husband. We were brought together by the same passion. We like to see things as travelers not tourist. We like to blend with the local and learn their cultures while we uphold ours.
You can check out this link for the places that we've been to: http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/c1517/
It’s not grand or lavish holiday...Just short escape getaway from the hustle and bustle of the boring city life.
We'll be in Europe from 13th June To 6th July InsyaAllah!

SMOKER’S PLEDGE…TILL DEATH DO WE STOP!

In certain countries, smokers are being scrutinizes by cruel eyes and treated like 'Pariah'...If smoking is so bad and passive smoking is dangerous, why legalizes cigarettes selling?
Is this really the reason why the cigarettes price rocketing sky high?
I guess it's not just to discourage smoking but also to raise revenue...
Well, seems like the cigarettes price is killing the smokers much faster than heart attack...but till death do they stop!

Marlboro's Kretek Cigarettes? Didn't know about it till we saw it in Bali last December.

GOOD BYE SAM!

Put To Sleep On 04-04-08

I’ve been looking for Samantha these past few days but she’s nowhere to be found. Suzan SMS-ed & informed me that she has put Samantha to sleep because of kidney failure.

What made me felt so sad is that I didn’t have the chance to see her when she was still alive, at least I could hold her for the last time. Too bad that Suzan has taken her to the vet without letting me know about her condition first…it was only until too late!

The vet said that there’s possibility that she’s been poisoned,
Suzan & I knew darn well that she’s healthy despite her age…after all she’s only around 6years old. Everyone was surprised to find out that she has been put to sleep.
I just can’t control my tears the moment I held her…she’s still warm but motionless. Suddenly I felt a deep lost. No one will understand my feeling unless they are animal lovers or ever had a pet of their own.

May God punish the person who’d poison her if that was really the cause of her misery! Someone had cut off her long & beautiful tail before & she’s been kicked around and being abused so many times…I wonder how someone so cruel is fit enough to be called human? There’s no reason for anyone to hurt the animals just because they didn’t like it, just wait for God’s retribution…sooner or later they’re going to get it!

Despite the heartless around, you’re going to be missed by so many that love you…Good Bye Sam!

HERBS: I’M A USER AND A BELIEVER!

Local Name:Mengkudu
Common Name: Noni
Scientific Name: Morinda Citrifolia

When my mum said that this fruit (Noni) is good and has medicinal effect, I thought she was joking. Yuk! I can’t stand the smell of it. Later I found out that she was dead serious about it! Herbs as natural remedies were passed down from one generation after another. It is inexpensive and effective most of the time. Now I share it with my children and friends. It won’t be long for me to go…at least I could leave behind some knowledge.

You can make your own Noni juice. Wash the fruits thoroughly. Cut into small pieces and add a little bit of salt/honey. After the fruits have been juiced, strain it to remove the unwanted the seeds. Said to cleanse the intestines and dispel air…you’ll be farting the whole night though and it'll be easy for your bowel movement the next morning:))
It's also good to relieve chest congestion especially for smokers.

Please don’t try to do it yourself IF you are not sure about the plants.
After all what’s effective for me might not be effective for others. It’s better to consult your physician if you are in doubt or pregnant. Me? I’m a user and a believer!
